First vehicle comprising of hydrogen fuel cell to be ever sold commercially (not just lease), launched at the November 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, Mirai is the most fuel efficient hydrogen fuel cell vehicle rated by the EPA.
Also referred as “puffer fish” because of its bulbous face and large “gills” in the front bumper, Mirai works on hydrogen. Fuel cell generates electricity by a blend of hydrogen and oxygen which gets stored in battery and supplies power to motor.

Emitting only water vapour from its tailpipe, Mirai is a four seater saloon. Cabin is considered a little hushed due to wind, road noise and an eerie sound of fuel cell.
Having a total range of 502 km on a full tank, Mirai is considered among the cars with the largest range. Mirai, performing excellently, is based on Toyota FCV (concept car).
Steering wheel, dashboard and center console unit are all well placed, neglecting some miniature buttons which sometimes become terrible to use.
Character traits such as Michelin Primacy MXV4 215/35R-17 tires and an appreciable tuned suspension deliver crisp steering response makes Mirai worth spending money.
The exceptional frame designed for Mirai distributes the shocks equally. Passenger cabin and Toyota fuel cell stack absorbs the force impact during collision, hence ensuring passenger’s safety. Few safety measures like pre collision system, enhanced vehicle stability control, eight SRS user bag, anti lock brake system and smart stop brake technology always keeps the passenger on side.
