Lenovo’s Tango: A Phabulous Augmented Reality

Lenovo has launched a Phab 2 Pro, the first Android phone that is using Google’s Project Tango augmented-reality tech. Tango’s 3D sensors enable motion tracking, depth sensing, and the ability to measure areas. The Phab 2 Pro utilizes Tango technology to give apps new augmented reality capabilities.

The Phab has a 6.4-inch QHD display along with this, it also features three rear cameras, including a 16-megapixel main shooter sandwiched between a fingerprint scanner below, and the paired depth sensor and motion-tracking fish eyed camera above.

The front-facing camera has an eight-megapixel sensor. This Phablet has 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, a 4,050 mAh battery, and it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform. Tango apps can easily be installed through Tango app or Google Play and there are more than 35 of them available today, as per, Justin Quimby, senior Tango product manager.

Many of them provide game apps along with various other apps that one can experience the real taste of Augmented reality. This phablet is exclusively based on augmented reality. One can experience various amusing AR games and apps. They provide apps like Measure: measure anything in your home from your door to desk; It also has apps like Domino World to play dominoes without having to pack up the tiles later; Crayola Color Blaster for paint and draw on various surfaces at your home; Games like Slingshot Island, Raise, Wild Wild Racing, Car racing are also available. One can also use the app and can build a new digital world with Towers for Tango or World. It also provides an app Spectra, where you can customise the videos with 3D filters and can make them look more realistic and fun.
