Mobile markets of some of the countries are facing stampede like crisis due to “Xiomi Mi 3 “. Lets find out what the is the fuss is about and the offerings this Android mobile phone brings on.
It is not a big deal if a single core processor , 512kb ram android device is available for $250 on off contract. But if you are getting a cellphone with Quad core snapdragon processor , 2 GB RAM and magnanimous 13 MP rear camera for $270 it will be a candy for you. Xiaomi had been recently in news and criticized for copying apple products design and features.
Inspite of the high demand and going out of stock , we were able to get our hands on Xiomi Mi3 for quick and dirty review :
Display
Xiomi Mi 3 comes with a 5 inch capacitive touch IPS display. At any angle of viewing we did not face any issue , IPS is obviously the reason. 441 pixels per density is quite effective but while comparing it from Moto G ( 326 ppi) it is quite unnoticeable to naked eye.
Body
It comes with a silver aluminium back panel , Bezel is black in cover. Body looks very rugged as compared to plastic bodies of other vendors. body’s borderline is little bit rounded !! We dont know the reason why it was done that way ? Still it doesn’t look that bad. Body weight is approx. 146g.
Display screen is gorilla glass , No doubt it is stronger but people have a wrong perception that it doesn’t break or is scratch proof. For 5 inch display the body looks pretty thin but broad.
Processing Power
Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor on a snapdragon 800 chipset along with Adreno 330 GPU. Which not only sounds awesome but is actually awesome. It comes with enormous 2GB of RAM.
Battery
It comes with a mammoth battery of 3050 mAH which will should last 1.5 days on moderate usage.
Camera
13 MP Rear camera was worth clicking picture , 5 MP front camera also met our expectation in terms of quality.
Sound
We tried playing music at peak volumes but noticed little bit noise which is common in few of the smartphones.
The Verdict :
The Good : Awesome processing power , rugged body and effective display
The Bad : no 4G LTE support or extendable memory . Heating issue while playing games ( very similar to Moto G)
The Ugly : Currently available in China , Malaysia , Singapore ,India and few other countries . That is also out of stock in most of the places !!!
