Isuzu’s latest SUV, The MU-X is expected to launch on 11 May 2017. There has been much curiosity in India for this new flagship SUV in India and replace the ageing MU-7. The New
MU-X will have fairly good off-road credentials as well. This SUV was first intruded in 2013 and been doing well in international markets of Australia, New Zealand, Laos, Indonesia and Philippines. The Japanese car-maker gave the SUV a mid-life update recently before it went on sale in Thailand earlier this year. The overall design of the MU-X is similar to the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The MU-X is upgraded with new LED daytime running lights combined alongside the projector units. The front of the MU-X also got few changes with the look, slightly slatted with new grille having large Isuzu badge. The headlights sit firmly on the edge of the bonnet giving it a muscular attitude. The side profile is typical SUV with a high roofline and a sharply rake over the front windscreen and flared wheel arches.
The stylish 18-inch alloy wheels giving the SUV a fresh appeal and bumpers have grasped with a new roof mount making it more spoiler. The high ground clearance typifies the new MU-X, marking it as premium SUV.
The MU-X Interior- The SUV will get a superior audio system with a touchscreen system paired with six speakers plus two roof-mounted speakers and Bluetooth phone connectivity along with audio streaming and satellite navigation. The MU-X comes with steering wheel is integrated with audio control , 14 cup holders, six-way electric driver seat and climate control. The MU-X also comes with foldable seats, thus increasing the luggage carrying capacity.
The Safety Features:- The Safety features in this car will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control. Under the hood, the MU-X will be powered with 3.0-litre diesel engine, producing 174bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. This SUV will come in six-speed manual as well as a six-speed automatic with 4X4 being a standard option. However, a 4X2 option is also likely to be offered in the base variants.
The MU-X will be in competition with Toyota Fortune, Ford Endeavour but needs to be strategic with its pricing to mark sustainability in SUV market. The expected price of Rs. 20 – 25 Lakhs.
