Toyota To launch All New Giant Fortuner

The much awaited second generation Fortuner has been launched by Japanese auto giant Toyota, available in petrol and diesel both. It has engine with six variants and said to be in competition with Chevrolet Trailblazer and Ford Endeavour. Toyota Fortuner petrol prices range between Rs 25.92 lakh to Rs 27.61 lakh, while the diesel variants are priced from Rs 27.52 to Rs 31.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

New Toyota Fortuner 2016 is definitely a head turner, featuring new LED projector head lamps, LED tail lights and LED daytime running lights. The alloy 17 or 18 inches wheels with loads of chrome garnishing, gives it a modern look. It’s interior is designed with the leather upholstery. Features like automatic climate control, touch screen infotainment system, and also electronic adjustable driver’s seat makes it much more desirable.

Ditching the old engine Fortuner 2016 comes with 2.8 liter GD diesel engine equipped with variable geometric turbocharger technologies. Whereas, Toyota has also introduced 2.7 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine on SUV. Both the engines are just like that of Innova Crysta, but have been tuned differently to carry extra weight.

The aggressive new Fortuner has a very muscular bumper with a prominent hood. The three air bags ABS with EDB and a fuel tank having the capacity of 80 litres of petrol makes it robust and a complete package. It has been named as FIRM means Frame with Integrated Rigidity, so it boasts of technology that apart from improving safety also enhances the ride along with handling qualities.

Latin New Car Assessment Program NCAP has given Toyota Fortuner five star rating and it has achieved five star safety rating from Australasian NCAPP and is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2017 in the country.
