Stupefying social networking application, WhatsApp has officially launched a new feature that enables the user to access WhatsApp both on smartphone as well as PC/ Laptop/ Tab). Refraining the user from using any bluestacks kind of software, this computer based extension of WhatsApp makes it work simultaneously on both the devices as it is perfectly synced.
Available only for Android, iPhone 8.1+, Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1, Nokia S40, Nokia S60 EVO and BlackBerry 10 smartphones, web requires a few features to commence with. For instance, an active WhatsApp account, a sturdy internet connection; connecting both the devices and the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, Opera for the web.
Commencing with the surfing, user is supposed to launch the web browser and head to https://web.whatsapp.com/ on laptops or computers.
Further launch WhatsApp on the smartphone and go to the chat screen . Heading towards the menu (three dots on top left) , go to the WhatsApp web option.
A QR code scanner appears on phone’s screen. Scan the QR code visible on WhatsApp Web on the computer or laptop screen. Automatically, WhatsApp starts operating on your laptop or PC.
Well, getting started with web is slightly different. While using WhatsApp on mobile, user was supposed to tap on new message icon to choose the contact, but WhatsApp web lets the user to break the ice with the existing filtered chats.
Another stupefying feature includes ‘Desktop Notifications’ which alerts the user of fresh messages even while the WhatsApp browser is minimised on web but also allows only single web session at a time. Unlike WhatsApp on mobile, WhatsApp Web has an interesting feature of logging out the account. Indeed, the user needs to repeat the above steps to get back to WhatsApp on web.
The steps almost coincides for iOS operating system except for the menu option. User needs to land on setting to get through WhatsApp Web option.
